The major Guard and Reserve units and locations in Oklahoma are:

Army National Guard – Based at local armories across the state.

Air National Guard – 137th Airlift Wing based in Oklahoma City and the 138th Fighter Wing based in Tulsa.

Air Force Reserve507th Air Refueling Wing and the 513th Air Control Group based at Tinker Air Force Base.

Army Reserve164th Quartermaster Group based in Broken Arrow, the 4th Brigade, 75th Division based at Fort Sill, and the 95th Division (Institutional Training) based in Oklahoma City.

Marine Forces Reserve – Tank Training Company, Headquarters, 4thMarDiv based in Broken Arrow and the Battery F, 2nd Battalion, 14th Marines, 4thMarDiv based in Oklahoma City.

Navy Reserve Force – Navy Operational Support Center in Oklahoma City and Naval and Marine Corps Reserve Center in Broken Arrow.

Civilian Military Employers in Oklahoma

The military employs more than 25,000 civilians in Oklahoma for support roles at military bases, to make and warehouse bombs, and to manage lakes and wetlands, among other responsibilities. The state's primary civilian employment centers are:

Altus Air Force Base – 1,100 employees at Altus (west of Lawton). Trains crews to operate C-17 cargo planes and KC-135 aerial refueling tankers for deployment around the world.

Army Corps of Engineers – 630 employees in Tulsa district headquarters and across the state. Provides planning, engineering, construction, operations and other services for water projects in and around Oklahoma.

Camp Gruber – 60 employees at Braggs (southeast of Muskogee). Command training center for Oklahoma Army National Guard and other forces.

Fort Sill – 6,300 employees near Lawton. Home of the U.S. Army Field Artillery and the Field Artillery Training Center.

McAlester Army Ammunition Plant – 1,300 employees at McAlester. Produces missile ammunition up to the 21,700-pound MOAB bomb and stores those and other munitions.

Tinker Air Force Base – 16,000 employees at Oklahoma City. Oklahoma Air Logistics Center and other units maintain bombers, tankers, and reconnaissance planes and manage many other responsibilities.

Vance Air Force Base – 1,500 employees at Enid. Trains pilots for Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps.
